Position Overview:
The Goddard School of Roscoe Village is seeking an experienced, passionate, and collaborative Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for someone with strong instructional leadership, classroom management expertise, and a deep love for early childhood education. The Assistant Director will work directly with teachers to model best practices, support curriculum implementation, and ensure the highest quality learning environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a Director-level role at a licensed childcare center or preschool
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Strong knowledge of curriculum planning and classroom management
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and coaching skills
Key Responsibilities:
In-Classroom Coaching & Support
- Observe and support teachers in real time across all age groups
- Model effective teaching strategies, classroom setup, and behavior management
- Provide hands-on guidance to help teachers meet developmental goals
- Foster a culture of reflective teaching and continuous improvement
Office-Based Leadership & Administration
- Review lesson plans and ensure curriculum alignment
- Lead professional development and training initiatives
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback
- Partner with the Executive Director and administrative team on school operations and compliance
- Communicate with families as needed to support educational quality
